In 2009 we were commissioned by the Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission to create a public artwork to weave the lives and histories of the citizens of Chapel Hill and Carrboro together. We teamed up with the UNC Chapel Hill programs in Humanities and Human Values and Southern Oral History to conduct four workshops. The workshops were a place where community members could bring in images, memorabilia, and ephemera that we scanned to later be used in our public art piece.

Participants also had the chance to tell their stories to a video camera that was set up and to conduct StoryCorps-like interviews.
